Objectives to advance a Prayer-Care-Share Lifestyle:
TO PRAY: Foundational ministry need – dependence upon God for all areas of provision and strength
TO CARE: Meeting felt needs of all variety as an extension of the hands and heart of Christ
TO SHARE: Expressing the grace of God through the story of the Gospel in a practical way
Foundational ministry need – dependence upon God for all areas of provision and strength
Pray for local churches to honestly and critically evaluate themselves with regard to loving God, the church and those who are lost – the world
Pray for local churches to clearly identify how much of their effort/resource goes into taking care of the church vs. reaching the lost with the gospel
Pray for entire congregations to embrace the call to spread the gospel through personal evangelism in a way that is natural for them
Meeting felt needs of all variety as an extension of the hands and heart of Christ
Look within your own church to identify ministries that could be turned outward just a few degrees to bless the general community and the lost rather than just the church
Extend care beyond the needs of the church to the needs of the lost. Caring for the community is the first step in opening the door for conversations which lead to relationships which lead to sharing the Gospel.
Expressing the grace of God through the story of the Gospel in a practical way
Knowing the gospel and learning how to communicate it to others are the two ends of a journey to reaching the lost. But focusing on just these two ends without being prepared to cover the ground in between means that the opportunities to share the gospel will be few and far between. The space between the ends is made up of building relationships and sharing stories – all leading up to the right moment to share the gospel. Work within your church on preparing people for this middle part of sharing.
